The Boston Herald
Massachusetts Daily Newspapers
The Boston Herald began in 1846 and was called just The Herald. It evolved from numerous Boston Newspapers including The Daily Advertiser (1813) and The Old Boston Herald (1846). The Boston Herald that we know today came into existence on December 20, 1982, when the chairman of News Corp., Rupert Murdoch, bought the tabloid from the Hearst Corporation and changed its name from the Herald American back to the Boston Herald in 1982. Since then, the Boston Herald has been growing ever since.
