From public skating and freestyle sessions to rink rentals and skating lessons, this classic New England rink is a long -loved winter tradition for many families. Home to the Skating Club of Boston and the Skating Academy, the Frog Pond is one of America’s oldest public parks and is located in the heart of Boston Commons. The Frog Pond is open seven days a week. Children under the age of 13 are free, skate rentals and sharpening are available, and there are a host of wonderful annual events that occur at the Frog Pond. The Skating Academy offers year-round lessons, with winter lessons most often occurring at the Frog Pond.
Winter programs at the Frog Pond include College Nights, school skating sessions, group and private lessons, and rink rentals. Frog Pond events include US Figure Skating competitions, various Skating Spectaculars throughout teh winter season, and First Night with fireworks. The Frog Pond Cafe offers a full menu of snacks, drinks and sandwiches for hungry skaters.
