This family-friendly New England holiday tradition features millions of twinkling lights and displays in a spectacular holiday celebration. Bring the kids, mneet and greet Santa, listen to carols, and ride the Edaville Railroad train. Fireworks show on Friday nights throughout December. Admission is charged.

The annual New Year’s Eve event, First Night Boston, includes many indoor and outdoor performances that run all night long. This fun New Years Eve event embraces much of the city, with 250 exhibitions and performances. The entire thing is run by a private, non-profit organization.

Zoo Lights at Stone Zoo
Stoneham, MA
Visit Stone Zoo for a night of twinkling lights, wildlife, and holiday magic. Stop by Santa’s Castle to visit with Santa, meet real reindeer and see arctic foxes. This annual holiday event is loved by thousands and runs from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Eve.

Boston Ballet’s The Nutcracker
Boston, MA
One of the most beloved of Boston Christmas traditions, a live performance of Tchaikovsky’s The Nutcracker is a magical event for all ages. With stunning costume and set designs, and an entirely new production by Boston Ballet’s lead Artistic Director and Choreographer, this year’s performances are guaranteed to astound and delight.

Bridgewater Festival of Lights
Bridgewater, MA
Visit Alexander Drive in Bridgewater this holiday season for the Festival of Lights, and experience the twinkle of over 200,000 lights at this free annual holiday event. The non-profit festival makes charitable contributions each year to local food pantries, toys for tots, and Star Light Charities, which helps those in need of heat, food, & education.

First Light Winter Festival
Brookline, MA
Brookline’s First Light festival is the official town-wide kickoff to the holiday season. First Light features a variety of events and performances, a photography contest, art displays, and many activities at area businesses. Be sure to check out the light installations by Sina Lightworks. |

Main Street at Christmas
Stockbridge, MA
Inspired by the iconic artwork of Norman Rockwell, this annual holiday festival has been bringing his painting of the village to life
for over 20 years. No detail is spared in the recreation of Rockwell’s historic New England scene – you will see vintage automobiles, horse-drawn carriages, Santa and Roger the Jester, and you will be able to participate in a Holiday House Tour, Caroling, and Sotry Time for the children, amnong countless other festive activities.
