The greater Boston area is home to some of New England’s finest beers. Samuel Adams is one of the beers made in the state. The Boston Beer Company, which makes Sam Adams, was founded in 1984 by Jim Koch. Today, it is one of the largest American owned breweries, while Harpoon Brewery, in operation since 1986, is dubbed “New England’s largest craft brewery”. Harpoon has six beers available year round and four seasonal choices. Their restaurant has five beers on tap; the most popular is Tick Tock Ale. Watch City Brewing Company, in Waltham, is a local favorite, with a unique taste. This Waltham brewed beer has been around for over fifteen years.
