Aquinnah is located on Massachusetts’ Martha’s Vineyard. This small island town was originally named Gay Head, but in 1998 the residents of the town had a popular vote and decided to rename. Aquinnah is in a peaceful and picturesque location on the less populated side of Martha’s Vineyard. The ocean is not too rough in the beach areas. Lobsterville and Philbin are the two more well-known Aquinnah beaches. Aquinnah’s Wampanoag reservation land is well maintained and helps keep the area less commercial.
