Fall River is located in Mount Hope Bay, the mouth of the Taunton River. Fall River was famous in the 19th century for being a leading textile manufacturing center. Known as ‘The Scholarship City’, Fall River is famous for the ax murder of Lizzie Borden’s parents in 1892, and is also home to Battleship Cove, the world’s largest collection of World War II naval vessels.
