Situated between Springfield and Worcester, Hadley, Massachusetts was founded on a strong agricultural economy, but this shifted in the 1960’s with the development of the highway system and the expansion of nearby University of Massachusetts at Amherst. During this time much of the existing farmland was transformed into housing for students and faculty. The Hadley Farm Museum holds many farming tools and details of Hadley’s agricultural roots.
