Hancock is home to Rounds Mountain, Misery Mountain, Brodie Mountain, Sheeps Heaven Mountain, and Jiminy Peak. Founded by Shakers and named after John Hancock, this town contains the Hancock Shaker Village, which has been a historic landmark since 1961 and offers a replica Shaker village. The Hancock Shaker Village is a member of the National Register of Historic Places.
