Manchester-By-The-Sea, MA Business Vacations HistoryManchester-by-the-Sea map

The North Shore community of Manchester-By-The-Sea, Massachusetts was first called simply Manchester. The railroad conductors would call out ‘Manchester-By-The-Sea’ when they were stopping in Manchester and the name caught on. Years later, there was a town vote to make Manchester-By-The-Sea the official name of Manchester. The vote barely passed and today the name Manchester-by-the-sea is on all legal documents, the seal, and the town flag. With nearly 13 miles of coastline, Manchester-By-The-Sea is home to some very beautiful beaches. The Singing Beach is just one of the most popular.
