Just outside Boston, the Blue Hills Reservation includes a trailside museum, observatory, and science center. The Houghton Pond Trail circles the pond through woodlands and beaches and is an easy walk for all levels of ability.

Hemlock Gorge / Village Falls Park
A stone’s throw from Boston, Hemlock Gorge is located within a 23-acre reservation along the banks of the Charles River. An excellent getaway featuring a 26 ft waterfall, hiking trails, and a canoe launch.

Skyline Trail / Middlesex Fells Reservation
A rocky retreat from the city, including ponds, fields, and woodlands. The Skyline Trail is mostly wooded with steep rocky ascents.
